Simple Seasoned Pretzels
Inside: simple seasoned pretzel recipe.
In our home, summer means more time outside and more meals and snacks on the go which means that easy and delicious snacks that can be made ahead and grabbed in a pinch are even more important. Seasoned pretzels are one of our very favorites for snacking and they’re so easy to make at home.
Does anyone else have kids that are always looking for snacks? When you have kids looking for food all of the time, it is even more important to be filling their bellies with nutritious foods. Things like fresh fruit, bell peppers, carrots, or cucumbers make great easy, healthy snacks. I also like to make things like granola bars and protein balls or these strawberry lime slushies for summer.
As much as I like to make snacks from scratch, it is nice to have a few prepackaged snacks on hand for trips or on-the-go snacking and I love to shop Thrive Market for clean snack options like fruit leather, Skout Bars, Lesser Evil popcorn, dried fruit and snack bars. Anyway, sometimes we just want something salty and crunchy and these pretzels hit the spot for flavor and ease. Whether you need a simple take-along dish for a summer BBQ or camping trip or just need a perfect pool-side snack, these pretzels are perfect.
Simple Ingredients:
- 1 large bag (24oz) of plain pretzels (mini twists or sticks work great)
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 1 TB garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1.5 tsp dill weed
- Optionally: smoked paprika or a cayenne pepper are great additions if you like a little smoky, spicy flavor.
How to make seasoned pretzels
Making these seasoned pretzels really could not get any simpler.
Measure out the oil into a small bowl or liquid measuring cup. Add the spices and mix. Dump the bag of pretzels into a large mixing bowl and then pour the oil and spice mixture over it. Stir well to evenly coat the pretzels.
Preheat the oven to 350 and spread the pretzels out onto a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pretzels are just starting to brown. Let cool completely and the store in an airtight bag.
That’s it! Delicious and easy, these pretzels are sure to become a summer staple!
