Healthy Homemade Granola

Perfectly sweet, chewy granola. The only recipe you will ever need.
Course: Breakfast

Ingredients
  

  • 6-7 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2-3 cups add-ins (see notes)
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl combine oats and add-ins.
  2. In a small sauce mix honey and coconut oil and heat on medium-low heat just until mixture begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add cinnamon and salt.
  3. Pour oil/honey mixture over oats and stir until the oats are well-coated.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 baking sheet and set aside.
  5. Dump oat mixture onto prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes, until oats are just beginning to turn brown. Do not stir.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely before moving from pan. This will help it clump together.

Notes

There are so many options for add-ins to this granola. Some of our favorites are sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, flax seed, cranberries, and pecans. 
Adjust your oat ratio depending on how much extra "stuff" you want in your granola. There should be a total of 8 cups of dry ingredients.
