“For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.”
Psalm 108:4
I think many of us as mom’s struggle, at times, with feelings of inadequacy and failure. We begin comparing ourselves to others and suddenly we don’t measure up for one reason or another.
As I have wrestled with these feelings over the last weeks, the Lord has been kind to teach me that His love for me is unchanging and steadfast.
“I am sure that neither death or life, or angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor power, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
I love that old hymn that says,
“Could we with ink the ocean fill,
and were the skies of parchment made;
were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill,
and ev’ryone a scribe by trade;
to write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry;
nor could he scroll contain the whole,
though stretched from sky to sky.
Refrain:
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure-
the saints’ and angels’ song.”
Your worth as a woman, a wife, a mom isn’t tied up in anything you do. It’s not measured by how many children you have or whether your parenting decisions please your friends and family. It’s not the sum of your emotions and feelings, how clean your house is, or how many meals you make from scratch.
You are loved by the God of heaven and earth, you are precious toHim, and His love for you will never end.
